1. What are the benefits of the Cruise Card?
A Cruise Card is the quickest and most convenient way to pay your toll. Cruise Cards save motorists time by allowing quick passage through toll booths. It is also safer since you will not have to fumble around your car looking for coins or putting away change from an attendant. There is no need to roll down windows in inclement weather, and toll booth lines are dramatically reduced - a benefit for all Tollway patrons. Additionally, the use of Cruise Cards relieves congestion at the toll booths, conserves fuel and reduces emissions.

4. How do I apply for a Cruise Card and how long does it take to get a Cruise Card?
Currently you can:
- apply online at www.georgiatolls.com
- contact us by phone, fax, or e-mail to request that we send you an application
- delivery is generally, 5-7 working days from the date we receive your application
5. How does a Cruise Card account work?
You must maintain a pre-paid account with a chargeable credit card or check debit card to cover tolls and charges for the use of your Cruise Card. You will pay $20 when you submit your Cruise Card application (the pre-paid toll amount increases for commercial accounts with more than 25 Cruise Cards). However, any unused tolls will be refunded when the account is closed. Each time your Cruise Card passes through a toll lane, we will deduct the applicable toll from your account.
6. How do I maintain my account?
You maintain your account by providing a chargeable credit or check debit card. When your account balance falls to $10 or less (this is your replenishment threshold), our system will automatically charge your credit or check debit card $20 (this is your re-bill amount) to replenish your pre-paid toll balance. This replenishment threshold will be greater for commercial accounts with more than 25 Cruise Cards.
7. Is there a cost for the Cruise Card?
There is a $10 purchase fee plus applicable sales tax for each Cruise Card. However, we often run promotions for discounted Cruise Cards.
8. How many vehicles can I have on one account?
You must have a separate Cruise Card for each vehicle, but there is no limit to the number of vehicles you can have on an account. Each Cruise Card is assigned to the vehicle license plate provided by you and cannot be transferred between vehicles. An account with more than 5 vehicles would normally be a commercial account. You should contact our office to request more than 5 vehicles on a personal account.
9. Can a Cruise Card be used in more than one vehicle?
No, you agreed to license your Cruise Card for only one vehicle. If you wish to use additional vehicles, you will need to obtain a Cruise Card for each vehicle.
10. How do I add an additional vehicle to my Cruise Card account?
You can request additional Cruise Cards for additional vehicles on-line at www.georgiatolls.com, by phone at 404-893-6161 or you can send a letter by mail, fax or email requesting that the vehicle be added to your account, listing all of your info; including your name, account number, and vehicle information (license plate, year, color, make, and model). Additionally, you can contact the Cruise Card Center and ask that an Account Change Form be faxed or mailed to you. If your balance is $10.00 or lower, you must provide a chargeable credit card before additional cards can be obtained. The vehicle will be added to your account, and Cruise Card will be mailed to you. The cost is $10.00 per device plus applicable sales tax.
11. Why do I need to update my information for my Cruise Card account?
Credit cards expire, so you need to inform the Cruise Card Center of the new expiration date if you change, switch or cancel your credit card. When we cannot re-bill your credit card, we will be forced to close your account.
12. Can I pay by check only?
Yes, but you are still required to submit a valid credit/debit card number and expiration date with your application. Even if you plan to pay by check, we still need a valid credit card number on file to establish and maintain your account. You may also make check payments prior to the automatic rebill, if your account balance is above the $10 replenishment threshold when we receive your payment.
Check payments should be mailed to:
State Road and Tollway Authority
P.O. Box 2105
Atlanta, GA 30301-2105
13. Will I receive a monthly statement in the mail?
Due to increasing costs, we will no longer mail monthly statements effective January 31, 2005. You may view your statement or account information online at http://www.georgiatolls.com. To log in the first time, you will need your Cruise Card account number or Cruise Card ID (the number beginning with GSTA), and the credit card currently listed on your account. Only the last three statements when your account had activity are viewable.
A service fee of $2.00 will be charged to your Georgia Cruise Card account for each month's statement requested.
14. Why does the Cruise Card have to be mounted to the windshield?
The Cruise Card has to be mounted to ensure a proper transaction. Due to a metallic windshield that interferes with the electronic signal, certain vehicles require front bumper mounted Cruise Cards. Holding the Cruise Card in your hand or leaving it on the dashboard will prevent the Cruise Card from reading accurately, which may result in a Toll Violation Notice.See Question #19.
15. How does a Cruise Card work?
As you approach the toll lanes, the Cruise Card in your vehicle communicates electronically with a computer in the lane. Automatically, the toll is subtracted from your pre-paid Cruise Card account.
16. Please explain the green light?
If your account is in good standing, your cruise card is mounted and functioning properly, you will see a green Thank You light.
17. What do I do if I get a red light in the lane when my Cruise Card is being read?
As soon as you reach a destination where you can call, please call the Cruise Card Center to see if a problem exists with your account, possibly a bad credit card. If we do not hear from you, your account may be closed and you will be subject to a non-refundable $10 account reopen fee. You may also incur Toll Violation Fees.
18. How do I close my account?
You must return each Cruise Card, along with a request to close the account, to our office. When the Cruise Card Center receives the Cruise Card(s) and your request to close, we will refund any remaining balance in the account.
19. How do I know if my vehicle has a metalized windshield and requires a license plate tag?
SRTA no longer maintains a list of vehicles with metalized windows. Please check your owner's manual or consult with your local dealer.
20. I received a violation notice even though I'm a Cruise Card customer. Why? What should I do?
Please see Toll Violation FAQs click here.
21. Can I use any toll lane with my Cruise Card?
Yes. As a Cruise Card customer you may use any toll lane.
