1. Why did I get a Toll Violation Notice?
Toll Violation Notices are generated for the following reasons:
  • A vehicle registered to you passed through the GA 400 Toll Plaza without paying the associated toll.
  • The vehicle passed through the Toll Plaza with a Cruise Card assigned to a different vehicle or license plate. Your Cruise Card is assigned to one vehicle, and may only be used in the vehicle to which it is registered on your Cruise Card account. If you are using your Cruise Card in another vehicle, you must contact the Cruise Card Center to change the vehicle information to the current vehicle you want to use prior to driving on GA400.
  • The Cruise Card may have been deactivated.

2. How does the violation system work?
When a Cruise Card is not detected, violation enforcement cameras take an image of the license plate. Once the image has been taken and the license plate has been entered, our system cross checks the plate number against our data base of Cruise Card account license plates. If there is a match, the system deducts the appropriate toll. If there is no match, a Toll Violation Notice is generated to the registered owner who is on file with the Georgia Department of Revenue.

3. How much is a fine for a violation?

5. Can I use my Cruise Card in a Rental Vehicle?
No. If you are driving a rental vehicle, use the pay lanes. If you go through the Cruise Card lanes in a rental vehicle, and your cruise card does not register, the Rental Agency will receive the Toll Violation Notice. If you are going to have a rental vehicle for an extended period of time, you can update the vehicle information on your Cruise Card account with the rental vehicle information and then use your Cruise Card in it. You will need to update again when you no longer have the rental.

6. What happens if I violate in a Rental Vehicle?
If a violation occurs in a rental vehicle, a notice will be sent to the registered owner of the vehicle, i.e. the rental agency. The rental agency usually sends a copy of the Rental Contract to our office, we then forward the notice to the person who rented the car. However, some rental agencies may pay the Toll Violation Notice and charge you for the notice, plus their own processing fee.
